I love listening to Radio 4 when I'm making my fairies.....looks like they rather enjoy it too!

Missing Cake

The naughty little fairies are up to mischief again. I made a lovely Raspberry and Almond cake for my friend who was coming to tea and no sooner was it on the cake stand then a chunk was missing. I also caught them red handed trying to take another piece!

Missing Chocolates!

Turn your back for two minutes and a naughty little fairy is tucking into your favourite chocolates! I think I'm going to need to design a fairy proof box next! If you have any spare chocolate maybe she can come and live in your house!

Mischievous Fairies

These mischievous fairies are always raiding my ribbon stash to make themselves sparkly new dresses. I'm somewhat fond of my ribbons and keep finding the jars empty so these two little ladies will need to cause mischief in someone else's house!

These little golden fairies have been busy catching all the falling stars so they can make them into wands.

Fairy Dust

These little Fairies are in the post on their way to their new home. Let's hope they don't get up to too much mischief on the way! You never know what they might get up to with their magic wands and fairy dust.

Treasure Chest

I think this is probably one of Katie's favourite parcels from home, a golden box full of chocolate coins to share with all her friends at university with a stitched message on a little label.

Goodnight Kisses

My daughter Katie has just completed her first year at university. When we said goodbye for the first time I gave her this little goodnight kiss to pin up by her bed as she had said how she would miss me saying goodnight to her each night. I have sewn little stitched letters and gifts to send to her each and every week, to remind her how much we love and miss her.

Vintage Tins

I personalised these little vintage tins for my brother Ben's birthday so I could put some money in so he could treat himself. I used a vintage bicycle tin as he is a keen cyclist and as he opened it he was greeted with a smiling trio and a few shiny pound coins to buy some bicycle bits. It's a novel way to gift money and you'd be amazed how many pound coins you can actually fit in a tiny tin! Jake was included as I thought he'd be a good little money tin guard dog.

Personalised Pincushions

Every week I spend a day sewing with my lovely friend Julia and it's an absolute joy! It is her birthday today so I made her one of my little personalised pin cushions to go in a special handmade bag of goodies. I stitched a few little extra loves on the back...her husband Ian and her three darling boys Thomas, Joshua and Max! 

Victorian Sewing Machine

A Sunday morning trip to the car boot sale for some vintage treasures resulted in the best find ever, this beautiful Victorian Jones sewing machine. My maiden name is Jones and I am a Designer with a passion for sewing so it really was just meant to be!

Florence seems to rather like it too, looks like she's made herself a new frock!

I design and draw prolifically, there isn't a day that passes when pen doesn't meet paper and what very often happens next is that drawing often comes to life as a little wooden character or a stitched picture. As I am frequently asked where I get my inspiration and as so much of my work has a narrative I decided to start sharing my stories in the hope that I can inspire, inform and hopefully make you smile and brighten up your day.
